For Usenet readers, there are several newsgroups:

alt.tv.x-files.creative (for fan fiction)
uk.media.tv.xf.x-files (for UK fans)
aus.tv.x-files (for Australian fans)
alt.binaries.x-files (for binary files--not official newsgroup)
alt.shared-reality.x-files (for crossover fiction--not official)

If you do not have a thread at your local site, ask your news administrator. Be aware that many sites will not subscribe to unofficial newsgroups.
